C通信 ＜C-TRANSMISSION DRAWINGS＞ 2020 – 2024

新型コロナのパンデミックのさなか、長沢はそれに抗するようにその頃見た夢をドローイングで追い、テキストを書き、2020年3月半ばから『C通信』としてウェブ上での発表を始めた。『C通信』のCは、COVID-19、CORONAのCであり、C通信とは未知のウィルスを含めた目に見えない相手との「交信にならない通信」である。それらは原画を撮影し、さらにその画像に手を加え、顔料インクでプリントアウトしたものである。
“死者のこたつ”をはじめとして、震災、実際の死、植物人間、地球外生物、不死のほか、ウラシマタロウや“石になる”ことなど、現実の問題に接続しながら時空をかけめぐる物語となっている。一方でこれは、プリントアウトした複製がボディーを持ちえるか、という実験でもあった。—ギャラリー プレスリリースから−

C-Transmission Drawings: 2020 – 2024

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, as if in resistance to it, Nagasawa began chasing the dreams he had during that period through drawings and text. He commenced releasing these online in mid-March 2020 under the title C-Transmission Drawings (C-Tsushin). The “C” stands for COVID-19 and Corona; these “transmissions” represent an impossible communication—a non-communicative signaling—with an invisible counterpart, including the unknown virus. The process involved photographing the original drawings, digitally manipulating the images, and printing them with pigment inks.
Traversing time and space while connecting to pressing real-world issues, the narrative unfolds through themes such as The Deceased’s Kotatsu, the earthquake, actual death, vegetative states, extraterrestrial life, and immortality, alongside folklore like Urashima Taro and the act of “turning to stone.” Concurrently, this was an experiment in whether a printed, duplicated image could possess a physical “body.”
