Painting on Painting — 2012
Layering, Over painting, Ghosting 等々の意味があるが、ここでは即物的にPainting on Paintingとした。
The catalyst for this series was the act of placing dots of paint onto abandoned study pieces left behind by students, whether completed or unfinished, which allowed an entirely different painting to coalesce. These are paintings of [an unknown picture + traces of the present], and simultaneously, paintings of superposition. While this practice carries connotations of layering, overpainting, and ghosting, it was designated here with the literal and material title: Painting on Painting.
